The W+H Women in STEM team visited the fourth and fifth grade classes at Jefferson School in Plainfield to teach them about the engineering involved with making buildings earthquake proof. Students worked in teams to design and test their building models. The young students enjoyed benefiting from the knowledge of their older mentors.
Upper School students involved in the program include Helen Tang ’26, Madison Mitchell ’28, Anousheh Nazir ’27, Duaa Noor ’27, Kimberly Zhang ’27, Eshita Arora ’28, Aava Joshi ’27, Ellie Szczubelek ’28, Kimberly Chen ’28 and Anna Zhang ’28. Members of this club previously visited other Plainfield schools to collaborate with and instruct younger students. Mrs. Nicole Nolan, Director of Global Programs and Community Outreach, chaperoned the trip.
