We are committed to enhancing each student's learning experience by engaging parents and families as active partners in supporting student success at BGSU. Our mission is to educate and advocate for BGSU families and provide a synergistic environment for both students and families.
At BGSU, we embrace the notion of multi-dimensional families and recognize that family structures include families of origin and families of choice. We serve all families guardians, grandparents and other supporters in the lives of our students.
Our intent is to make the BGSU campus a “home away from home” by offering you a full range of services and resources. We invite you to contact us with any questions or concerns at

The Falcon Family Portal
The Falcon Family Portal is the primary mechanism used by Bowling Green State University (BGSU) to communicate with parents, family members and student supporters.
You may have already been enrolled to receive the portal newsletter via email- we automatically upload student supporter emails who attend new student orientation. In order to maximize your experience though you will need to create and update your profile to best take advantage of the following resources:
Personalized newsletters based on you and your student's interests
Access to important reminders and announcements sent to students
The opportunity to engage with other supporters in the portal
The ability to set how often you want to hear from us

2025-26 Family Calendar
New Falcon families of students who attend fall orientation between May and June can pick up their FREE family calendar during check-in.
One calendar per student will be provided and includes important dates and events for the academic year.

is the place to find the most up-to-date information on all events, as well as the
official BGSU academic calendars
Families who did not receive a calendar or would like additional copies, can download a print-only version –
but we highly recommend using the online resources as your primary source of information.
