Steps to Apply as a Transfer Student
Pre-Transfer Credit Evaluation
Get a pre-transfer credit evaluation using your unofficial transcripts to see what
may transfer to UW. An official review will be done by the registrar after admission.

This helps you access UW financial aid and once admitted, you'll get conditional award

The UW Transfer Experience
At UW, we’re here to support your transfer journey! Our Office of Transfer Relations
offers pre-transfer credit evaluations, personalized transfer plans and articulation
agreements to make your transition smooth. We provide dedicated events, peer mentoring
and financial aid resources to help you feel at home. With nearly half our students
coming from other schools, you’ll find a welcoming community and the tools you need
to succeed.
Transfer Admissions Requirements
We’re excited to welcome you to UW! Make sure to check admission requirements, as
well as those for scholarships and financial aid. If you’ve earned at least 12 post-high
school transfer credits, you may qualify for UW’s
transfer commitments
GPA Requirements
To transfer to UW, you’ll need a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. If your
GPA meets this requirement, you’re on the right track! Keep in mind that some programs
may have additional requirements. If you have questions or need guidance, we’re here
to help make your transition to UW as smooth as possible!
Transferable Credits
To transfer to UW, you’ll need at least 12 transferable credit hours. If you have
fewer than 12, don’t worry—you can still apply! You’ll just need to submit your high
school transcript and if you’re under 21, ACT or SAT scores are also required. We’re
here to help you through the process, so reach out with any questions as you take
the next step toward becoming a Poke!
