A Buzz of Excitement as Newcastle Academy Opens Its Doors
1st October 2025
What a wonderful evening at Newcastle Academy!
A huge thank you to all the Year 6 students and their families who joined us for our Open Evening. The school was buzzing with energy and excitement, and it was fantastic to see so many happy faces exploring, discovering, and getting involved.
For families who felt inspired by their visit and are ready to take the next step, applications for a place at Newcastle Academy for September 2026 are now open.

From the moment families walked through the doors, they were greeted by our amazing student leaders, who proudly guided them on a journey through the school. The entire building was alive with fun, hands-on activities that gave a real taste of what it’s like to be a student at Newcastle Academy.
Everywhere you looked, there were smiles and laughter.
A talented pianist filled the hall with beautiful music
, while our Year 10 Hospitality and Catering students prepared delicious canapés and snacks for everyone to enjoy
.
The journey of discovery continued as visitors got creative in the Art & Photography department, trying out a professional photo studio and adding to a huge piece of art
.
Next door, Drama students showcased their amazing improvisation skills, creating brilliant short scenes for the audience
.
The English department challenged visitors to write a story in just six words and guess famous book lines written only in emojis
.
Meanwhile, History detectives explored important documents from the past
, and in Geography, you could test your knowledge by guessing countries from just a few clues
.
Visitors also had the chance to taste sweet treats linked to world religions in the RE department
.
The science labs were full of wonder, with magical methane bubbles and a chance to peer into the tiny world of microscopes
.
In IT, visitors tested their Minecraft skills to learn about computer coding
, while the maths rooms were filled with fun games, puzzles, and even a dance mat
.
The PE department was also busy, inviting everyone to try different sports led by our fantastic Student Leaders
.
The evening was a perfect example of what Headteacher, Will Trugeon-Smith, calls the school’s “family atmosphere.” He describes Newcastle Academy as “a small school with a big heart,” where every child is known, valued, and supported.
As part of the Windsor Academy Trust family, we believe in unlocking the academic and personal potential of every child. The energy, curiosity, and talent on display at the Open Evening showed just how much potential there is.
Thank you once again to everyone who came along and to all the staff and student leaders who made the night such a memorable success.
