Uniform & Appearance
All students are expected to wear their uniform with pride, both in school and in the local community.
Items marked with an * below MUST be purchased from our school uniform supplier.

Jacket*

Skirt
Plain black pleated school skirt.

The skirt is to be worn so that it reaches at least the crease at the back of the knee.
Trousers
Plain black school trousers
Worn appropriately and pulled up to the waist and with the shirt tucked in.
Blouse/Shirt
Plain white, short or long sleeve blouse. Classic style with a revere neckline, or plain white shirt with collar.
Plain white, short or long sleeve shirt. This must be buttoned to the neck, and suitable for wearing with a tie.
Vests or undergarments must be white and must not be visible under the blouse/shirt.
Tights/Socks
Neutral or plain black opaque tights and/or plain black/grey ankle socks.
Plain black or grey socks
Patterned tights are not permitted.
Students will also need a pair of plain white sports socks for PE lessons.
Brooch
Colour according to year group

Tie

Ties in the appropriate year group colour to be worn at all times.
These can only be purchased from the Academy at £5.75
Hijab
A simple plain black, grey, navy or white, non-patterned hijab may be worn.
Jumper*
Black V neck jumper
Only available from our uniform supplier.
Alternative jumpers must not be worn. The jumper is not to be worn as an alternative to the jacket.
Shoes
Black, plain, sturdy leather shoes. Boots, trainers, open-toe and high heel shoes are not permitted.
Rucksack
An appropriate waterproof school bag that fits A4 size folders/books is required.
Outdoor Coat
An appropriate waterproof/winter coat is required. Coats should not be worn in the building.
Gloves/ scarf / hat
Must not be worn inside the building.
Belt
Plain black. Large buckles displaying logos are not permitted.
Jewellery
A watch may be worn. One stud earring may be worn in each ear.
Appearance
Make-Up,Nails, Hats & Hooded Tops
Make-up, fake tan, nail varnish or nail extensions of any kind may not be worn when in the Academy Uniform;
Spray deodorant, body sprays, or perfumes may not be brought to the Academy;
A medical face covering may be worn, these must be plain and without patterns/designs, text or logos;
Hooded and tracksuit tops of a sweatshirt material and balaclavas may not be worn.
Hair
Long hair must be tied back at all times;
Hairbands, hair-ties and scrunchies must be plain black, grey, brown, navy or white only. No decorative hairbands, hair ties, hair beads or ribbons are allowed;
Hair must be worn in a simple style. Elaborate styles or unnaturally coloured hair is not permitted.
If in doubt over whether a planned style would be acceptable, parents/students should contact the Academy and seek advice before having the hair styled.
