North Eleuthera Passport Office Opens
NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Residents of North Eleuthera now have improved access to passport services following the official opening of a new passport office in the northern district, in the community of Upper Bogue.
The opening ceremony, held on April 13, 2026, was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Fred Mitchell, along with other government officials and community stakeholders.
The new facility expands the availability of passport services on the island, complementing the existing office in Governor’s Harbour.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister Mitchell emphasized the importance of decentralizing essential services, noting, “Sometimes living in Nassau, you don’t appreciate what it actually means to bring a service to a local community.”
The addition of the North Eleuthera office is expected to increase convenience for residents in surrounding communities, bringing services closer to home and minimizing the need for long-distance travel.
The new office forms part of the government’s broader efforts to enhance service delivery across the Family Islands and improve overall access to government services.
