Albertus Magnus College Names Interim Vice President for Advancement
Kierran Broatch, Assistant VP for Advancement to Succeed Retiring Vice President,
Mary Young ‘91
New Haven, Conn., February 18, 2025
Albertus Magnus College
is pleased to announce that Assistant Vice President for Advancement Kierran Broatch
has been named the Interim Vice President for Advancement, effective March 1. He is
taking the reins from Vice President Mary Young ’91, who is retiring at the end of
February.
Broatch joined Albertus in May 2022, bringing passion and energy to lead the day-to-day
of the Advancement team, assisting in planning and implementing long- and short-term
strategies to secure support from individuals and organizations through major, annual,
and planned gifts. He successfully launched a gift planning program that has secured
more than $5M in commitments to date, created unique engagement experiences for the
Albertus community, and has been helping lay the groundwork for the College’s first
comprehensive campaign that will coincide with its milestone 100th anniversary.
Broatch brings 18 years of proven success in higher education advancement and nonprofit
leadership to his expanded role. Prior to joining Albertus, he served in increasing
levels of responsibility at Sacred Heart University, Quinnipiac University, and Save
the Sound. Broatch earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Eastern
Connecticut State University and his Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership
from Quinnipiac University.
Young returned to her beloved alma mater as Vice President in October 2019 after serving
as the Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross, Metro New York North Chapter,
and previously served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Sacred Heart
University. Earlier in her career, after earning her bachelor’s degree from Albertus
in 1991, in which she was the class valedictorian, Young worked for Albertus as the
Director of Financial Aid.
“Under Mary’s leadership, the College’s fundraising efforts have matured and achieved
new record successes. Annual fundraising gift totals have tripled, numerous million
dollar gifts and grants have been achieved, and the College’s first ever comprehensive
fundraising campaign, associated with our approaching Centennial, was launched,” said
Albertus President, Dr. Marc M. Camille. “Mary also has deepened the team in the Advancement
Division, helping to modernize operations and expand our fundraising capabilities.
I am confident Kierran will seamlessly step in and continue to build upon all the
good work that has been done and successfully lead our fundraising efforts at this
exciting time in the history of Albertus Magnus College, poised to begin a second
century of education excellence.”
