The Bennett University Ph.D. program offers global exposure, academic integrity and technological excellence to the engineering researchers, with an aim to make them career-ready.
The broad objectives of the Ph.D. programs are: to keep pace with the expanding frontiers of knowledge, and to provide research training relevant to the current social and economic objectives of the country. The Ph.D. degree is awarded for high academic achievements, independent research and application of knowledge to social, managerial, technical and scientific situations.
Creative and productive inquiry is be the concept behind research work. The academic program leading to the Ph.D. degree is broad-based. It entails specified course work and credit requirements for different programs, publications and research thesis.
The thesis would be the report of research work characterised by either the discovery of new facts or the new interpretation of known facts and theory, or an independent design and development, or the development any new instrument or technology.
The degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) of the Bennett University is conferred on a scholar who fulfils all the requirements specified in the Ph.D. Regulations. Attractive stipend is available through Teaching Assistantship for Ph.D. students (to cover program fee, hostel & incidental expenses).

Engineering, Technology and Applied Sciences
In line with the philosophy of being a research and innovation driven University, the University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), is offering Ph.D. programs in Engineering, Technology and Applied Sciences. The programs are available in the specialisations of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, Physics and Biotechnology.
Scholars are required to take up intensive research work under the guidance of a supervisor on a specific problem, for a minimum of three years. They are also required to take up advanced level course work as required under the Ph.D. rules. The research work is expected to result in new findings, contributing to the knowledge in the chosen field.
Doctoral research program gives an opportunity to scholars to show their analytical, innovative and independent thinking, leading to creativity and application of knowledge.
Scholars are required to deliver seminars on their research progress regularly, and to publish their work. Finally, they are required to submit the thesis embodying their research findings for the award of the Ph.D. degree.

The objective of the Ph.D. program is to equip the scholars with skills necessary to pursue research in the front-line areas of law, social science and science subjects. The aims at creating an inspiring, supportive and interdisciplinary research environment.
Scholars would be required to complete the coursework, deliver seminars on their research progress, and publish crucial components of their ongoing work. On completion of the mandated stages of the program, and based on the final submission of thesis/valuation and Viva, the degree is conferred in Law or in Interdisciplinary work in Law based on the subject.

These are exciting times. Creation, dissemination and consumption of information is being reshaped at a bewildering pace. The need of the hour is new ideas, ideas that are the product of refreshing research; ideas that have potential to change the way we create and consume information.
The School would therefore like its scholars to invest their thoughts and energies in applied research. They will be guided in their pursuit by the School’s Faculty most of whom have been drawn from the industry. The scholars will also have the opportunity to interact with top editors and media professionals working in India’s largest media conglomerate – The Times of India Group.

School of Liberal Arts
School of Liberal Arts is commencing Ph.D. programmes from 2022. Ph.Ds will be offered in English literature, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Philosophy and Political Science. The main aim of the Ph.D. programme is to enable socially relevant research resulting in a better understanding of the prevailing circumstances. Another attempt will be to undertake an experimental study, wherein, research can be an accompanying action. Ph.D. from the School of Liberal Arts can be interdisciplinary. The spirit of the school is to gain a holistic understanding of social sciences. At the same time, strict theoretical rigour will be required for the pursuance of research. Students will be regularly exposed to international and national seminars to learn myriad ways to approach a problem. The school highly encourage students to undertake fieldwork for their research to remain in touch with the ground-level facts.

How long does it take to complete a Ph.D. program?
The PhD programme shall have a minimum duration of three (3) years, including coursework and Open Defence, and a maximum duration of six (6) years from the date of admission to the PhD programme. An extension of up to two (2) additional years may be granted, provided that the total duration for completing the PhD programme does not exceed eight (8) years from the date of admission.
What is required grades to compete course work PhD.
All PhD students are required to complete the prescribed coursework credits within the stipulated duration specified for their respective programme, ensuring a structured foundation for their research journey. The minimum course credit requirement for Ph.D. shall be 12 credits. In addition to the 12 credits Research As applicable, these courses will cover key areas such as quantitative methods, research ethics, literature review, training, and fieldwork. The course work should be Completed within one year .
A Ph.D. scholar must obtain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.0 on a 10-point scale to successfully complete the coursework.

How long does it take to complete a Ph.D. program?
The PhD programme shall have a minimum duration of three (3) years, including coursework and Open Defence, and a maximum duration of six (6) years from the date of admission to the PhD programme. An extension of up to two (2) additional years may be granted, provided that the total duration for completing the PhD programme does not exceed eight (8) years from the date of admission.
What is required grades to compete course work PhD.
All PhD students are required to complete the prescribed coursework credits within the stipulated duration specified for their respective programme, ensuring a structured foundation for their research journey. The minimum course credit requirement for Ph.D. shall be 12 credits. In addition to the 12 credits Research As applicable, these courses will cover key areas such as quantitative methods, research ethics, literature review, training, and fieldwork. The course work should be Completed within one year .
A Ph.D. scholar must obtain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.0 on a 10-point scale to successfully complete the coursework.
