Welcome to French International School of Oregon!
Founded in 1979, we are proud to be the most established language immersion program and the only school in Portland fully authorized by the IB for preschool through 8th grade. There are many opportunities throughout the year to connect with us, learn more about our programs, and experience our campus in action. We encourage you to attend one of our informative admissions events or reach out to schedule an individual visit.

Decision
The application deadline for priority consideration is February 1 every year. We continue to accept applications on a rolling basis after that date.
Your child's application will be automatically submitted within our Admissions Portal once you have:
Provided general background information
Filled out the appropriate questionnaire(s)
Uploaded a family photo
Paid the $100 application fee

Teacher recommendation forms
must be filled out and submitted online by your child's current teacher(s). One recommendation is required for Maternelle and Lower School applicants. Middle School applicants are required to have one recommendation each for math, English and (if applicable) Advanced Language.
Student records
for the current and previous school year, sent directly to the Office of Admissions (electronically or by mail) from your child's school, are required for Lower School and Middle School applicants.

For Maternelle and Lower School applicants
, an Admissions Meeting with members of the Admissions Committee must be scheduled with the Office of Admissions after you submit your child's application and fee.
Depending on the grade level, Lower School applicants may be asked to spend a half or full day in a classroom at French International and be evaluated by our educational team. This visit will be coordinated after you submit your child's application and fee.
Middle School applicants
are expected to come to campus for one full school day to shadow a current student. This admissions requirement should be completed within two weeks of submitting your application. The admissions team will communicate student visit day availability once your child's application and fee have been received. For international and out-of-state applicants, a virtual student visit day option is possible.

Admissions decisions for applicant files completed by the February 1 priority consideration deadline will be made in March and April and sent to families electronically. For applications received after February 1, offers of admission will be made on a space-available basis once all required steps have been completed.
