As of Sept. 26, 2025, a significant epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) event is affecting Bartholomew, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Martin, Scott and Switzerland counties. Jennings County’s antlerless bag limit will be reduced from four antlerless deer to two antlerless deer for the upcoming hunting season. Jackson, Scott, and Jefferson counties’ antlerless bag limit will be reduced from four antlerless deer to three antlerless deer per county for the upcoming hunting season. Bartholomew, Martin, and Switzerland counties’ antlerless bag limit will be reduced from three antlerless deer to two antlerless deer per county for the upcoming hunting season.

How to buy a license
Online
Use the
Activity Hub.
There is a $3 tech fee per license and a credit card processing fee to purchase a license online. Fees are subject to change, and the credit card processing fee is non-refundable.
In Person
Hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses are available from license retailers and most DNR properties.

By mail
Send your order with the following:
Name
Date of birth
Include a copy of hunter education certificate or card if born after Dec. 31, 1986
Complete address, city, state, zip, phone number
Height, weight, color of hair, and color of eyes
The last four digits of the Social Security number (this is mandatory)
Specify the licenses including the season (i.e. deer for muzzleloader)
Send check or money order (payable to Indiana DNR), or credit card information (include number, CVV, and expiration date) to Indiana DNR:

Please allow two weeks for delivery. For more information, call the Indiana DNR Customer Service Center at 317-232-4200. All licenses issued by the DNR are non-transferable and non-refundable.
