Safety & Security
The safety and security of our St. Charles community as well as our guests is of the utmost importance.
We are continuously providing updated training to our students, staff and faculty in correlation with local law enforcement and local fire and EMS services. St. Charles takes a proactive approach to safety and is constantly reviewing and evaluating our systems and protocols to ensure the safety of all on our campus. This allows for students and families to stay focused on the activities of school life.
All of our faculty and staff are currently certified in basic first aid and CPR. In addition to first aid, faculty and staff are trained in additional areas such as severe weather or natural disaster responses, active threat responses (both indirectly and directly) and reunification in compliance with the State of Ohio, Emergency Management Systems and local first responders.

Response During an Emergency
We understand that this can be a very stressful situation for any family to handle. In the event of an emergency, St. Charles will make every effort to communicate information that is available as soon as possible. Notifications will be made to families during an emergency via our “all call” phone system,
Navigate Prepared,
or e-mail. It is imperative to understand that calling the school during an emergency will impede those on the scene  from properly and effectively communicating with local first responders. During these times, please refrain from calling the school so phone lines remain available.
The Safe School Helpline
The Safe School Helpline is our safety resource available to schools in the state of Ohio.   The helpline is an anonymous reporting system that accepts both calls and texts 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
This helpline allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety—whether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student. In addition, the helpline can be used to report any dangerous, suspicious or illegal activity to school officials and/or law enforcement.
Mental Health Helpline
Any person may need help in coping with a stressful situation. Reach out by text or phone to communicate with someone trained to listen and respond in a method that is private, secure and confidential. The Helpline is a free, confidential service available 24/7 via text or call.
