Distinguished Alumnus Award
This award was created in 1993 and is presented annually to a graduate of the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources by the Alumni Steering Committee (ASC). Distinguished Alumni are recognized for their contribution and commitment to the School, their profession, and respective community.
Selection Criteria
Earned an undergraduate or graduate degree from the Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources
Has made significant contributions to advancing the field of forestry & natural resources
Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining a lifelong relationship with Warnell
Has made an impact in their professional and philanthropic endeavors
Nominations will be considered for two years, after which the candidate is eligible to be re-nominated

Young Alumnus Award
This award was created in 1999 and is presented annually to a graduate of the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources by the Alumni Steering Committee. Recipients are recognized for holding positions of responsibility, demonstrating professional success, and actively supporting the Warnell School.
Selection Criteria
Earned an undergraduate or graduate degree from the Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources
Is under 40 as of August 1 of nomination year
Has contributed professionally to the field of forestry & natural resources
Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining a lifelong relationship with Warnell
Has made an impact in their professional and philanthropic endeavors
Nominations will be considered for two years, after which the candidate is eligible to be re-nominated

Nominations must be received by August 1, 2025.
Nominations for both awards should include the following:
How has your nominee contributed to our school, his or her profession, and respective community?
Describe past and current positions of responsibility the nominee has held and how he or she has been successful in those positions.
Any additional information about your nominee that makes him or her deserving of this award.
Provide three references we may contact to learn more about the nominee.

Selection Process
Nominations are solicited from Warnell alumni, faculty, and staff.
The selection committee of Alumni Steering Committee members provides finalists to move forward for final selection by the dean of the Warnell School.
