Africville Sailing School Launches
First Waves: Africville Sailing School Launches with Wind in Its Sails
August 2025
This August, the Africville Sailing School made waves — literally and figuratively — as young participants took to the waters of the Bedford Basin. In partnership with Sail Nova Scotia and WeCANFoil, the program welcomed African Nova Scotian and Indigenous youth for hands-on sailing lessons, races, and waterfront fun.
The school offers a fresh way to connect with the ocean, build confidence, and explore new possibilities. Smiles, sails, and stories filled the summer air, creating unforgettable memories for all involved. Dive into the highlights below through photos, news coverage, and community reflections.
