The Cordas C. Burnett Center for Biblical Preaching—named for the Seminary’s first executive vice president and a premier Pentecostal preacher—exists to serve the students of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Evangel University, the broader Pentecostal movement, and the universal church in the area of preaching. We aim to produce women and men of God who rightly handle God’s Word and effectively engage in gospel proclamation.
Through the curriculm of AGTS’s practical ministry degree programs, students interact with and learn from scholar-practitioners who not only study the art of preaching, but continue to regularly engage in pulpit ministry. Within the context of this program, students learn to develop clear, Christ-centered sermons used to communicate the truth of God’s word. Graduates of the Seminary’s preaching program currently serve as lead pastors, associate pastors, denominational leaders, university professors, military chaplains, conference speakers, and lay ministers.
