Staying Healthy
Staying healthy while away from home shouldn’t be difficult. Beacon’s team of health professionals keeps you living an active lifestyle, so you can be focused on classes and activities. With health services, counseling, campus safety, and more working together — we’re committed to providing access to resources, tools, and services that benefit your overall physical and mental well-being throughout your time at Beacon
Student Health
For all your physical healthcare needs, Beacon has partnered with
Community Health Centers–Leesburg
. This gorgeous center provides comprehensive, non-emergency medical, dental, behavioral, and vision services in a holistic, patient-centered facility — most services are available at one location across the street from our newest residence halls.
Appointments
With CHC, students enjoy care in a way that works best for the individual student through access to an onsite Beacon nurse, timely referrals to dentists and board-certified physicians, and access to the
University of Florida Health System’s Leesburg Hospital
or
AdventHealth Waterman Hospital
in Tavares. With CHC, students also gain access to some telemedicine services, plus an on-campus weekend nurse who can assist students with medication management.

Confidentiality Notice

Occupational Therapy
In addition to physical health and mental well-being, you’ll have the supportive educational environment to help you succeed through defined occupational therapy.
Commonly addressed concerns include review of needs and treatment options for fine/gross motor skill development, sensory motor integration, self-care, and emotional regulation. Our occupational therapist will work with your faculty and learning specialists to further assist in accessibility and integrate additional assistive technology. Group therapy sessions are available.
Additionally, you’ll be able to utilize the new Sensory and Mindfulness Room located in the Counseling and Wellness Center. The 324-square-foot room serves as a quiet space for students who might need to get away from the hectic education environment.
