Our Application Process Is Made For You
It won’t take long for you to learn: Curry College is a hands-on kind of place. That means we don’t just want to get your application. We want to get to know you and have a conversation about what you’re looking for in a college, while you consider applying.
This page gives first-year and transfer students an outline of how to apply, including deadlines, admission requirements, financial aid information, and more. But it’s just a starting point. Think of your admission counselor as a guide to the process. They are ready and excited to help.

Apply Early Action!
If Curry is one of your top choices, we encourage you to apply under our Early Action (EA) Plan. Students who apply by our
December 15th EA deadline
are guaranteed a speedy response—and may also
receive a $2,000 Early Action Award  (worth $8,000 over four years.)
EA is non-binding, which means accepted students have until May 1 to secure their enrollment.
All EA applicants receive an admission decision within two weeks of completing their applications. If admitted under the Early Action plan, you will receive a $2,000 Early Action award in addition to other merit scholarships. Please note that additional information may be requested by the Admission Office prior to releasing an admission decision.
How to Apply to Curry:
First-Year Applicants
First-year applicants must submit:
A completed application on the Common Application
An official high school transcript
letter of recommendation
from a school counselor or high school teacher. The recommendation may be submitted on a separate sheet or attached letter.
A college essay of at least 250 words.
Curry College is now test optional for admission to all academic programs. If you have taken either the SAT or ACT, you are encouraged but not required to submit your test results to support your application.
Graphic Design Portfolio Guidelines
First-Year students applying as a Graphic Design major are strongly encouraged to submit a portfolio of 10 original works of art. Transfer students applying to Graphic Design are encouraged to submit a portfolio of 15 original works of art to aid in placement into appropriate courses. While portfolios are not required for admission, they are highly recommended to strengthen your application and ensure proper course placement. Acceptable works include, but are not limited to, digital, 2-D and 3-D design, drawing, painting, mixed-media, sculpture, and still or animated digital representations.

Images (jpg, gif, png) up to 5 MB each
Videos (fav, wmv, mov, mp4) up to 60 MB each
Audio (mp3) up to 30 MB each
Documents (pdf) up to 10 MB each

PAL Applicants
Students who are applying to the Program for Advancement of Learning (PAL) must also submit:
Diagnostic testing
Individual Education Plan (IEP) or its equivalent, if available (optional)
PAL Supplementary Application (optional)

for more information on PAL requirements, as well as for submitting additional materials. Applications will not be considered until all requirements have been met.
Note: Curry College no longer requires SAT, SAT 1 or ACT scores. While we encourage students to submit scores to support their applications, it is optional.

Curry requires all applicants pay a non-refundable $50 fee to initiate the decision process. You must pay the fee before we consider your application.
Applicants who use the Common Application will pay this fee at the time of submission. If you apply using the Curry College application, please either

or by check.

Curry considers applications on a rolling basis and will return an admission decision within two weeks of completing your application. Important dates include:
Early Action:

Regular Decision:
April 1 (Priority Deadline)
Regular Decision (PAL):

If you submit your application by our Priority Deadline, we will automatically consider you for up to $33,000 in scholarships and awards. Applications received after the deadline will be considered as space in the class permits and funds remain available.
*While PAL applicants are encouraged to submit materials by the March 1 priority deadline, we will accept and review applications until the program reaches capacity.
Curry College is pleased to admit students who have the necessary preparation and background to be successful in and outside the classroom. We look to educate and graduate students prepared to engage in successful careers and active citizenship. No student shall be denied admission on the grounds of race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age or sex, provided he or she has the necessary preparation and background.
The College uses a holistic approach to identify applicants it believes will contribute to Curry's educational community. The admission Committee selects first-year and transfer students based upon a combination of the following criteria: secondary school record; college transcripts; personal essay; recommendation from the secondary school; and evidence of the candidate's college readiness. While standardized test scores on the SAT of the College Entrance Examination Board or the ACT of the American College Testing Program are optional, we will consider them if provided. Proof of high school graduation or GED is required prior to enrollment.
Admitted students are expected to conduct themselves in a college-ready manner consistent with Curry College's policies and expectations for its students, including those set forth in the Student Handbook. Prior to matriculation, admitted students must report to the Curry College Office of Admissions any disciplinary violations or other behavior that is inconsistent with the Code of Conduct. If any of these conditions are not met, the College may withdraw its offer of acceptance and deny admission to the College.
An admitted student must also report to the Curry College Office of Admissions if he or she becomes subject to any discipline process by a school or if his or her status at any school changes for any reason, or if information that was provided to the College in application materials is no longer accurate. The College may take action to withdraw its offer of acceptance and deny admission to (or continued enrollment at) the College, based upon this information (or failure to report these changes as required).
At Curry College, we prepare our students to engage in active citizenship. The College supports the rights of prospective students to participate in peaceful protests without concern that it will impact their admission to the College.

Merit Scholarship and Financial Awards Information
Every year, 99 percent of first-year Curry students get some form of financial aid. In fact, Curry itself distributes $44 million in scholarships and grants annually. That’s just part of our commitment to ensuring a Curry education remains affordable and accessible. Every student who applies is eligible for up to $35,000 a year in merit scholarships and grants and can access more need-based aid simply by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
