Picnic shelters and picnicking
Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m., Feb. 15 through April 30.
Picnic shelters and picnicking
Who doesn't love eating in the great outdoors? Parks are great places for it. Whether you're looking to have a picnic for two or for a large group, there's something to fit the bill.
Park picnic shelters may be rented all day - from 6 a.m. to park closing. Some have grills, drinking water and restroom facilities. Shelters are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis by calling the Customer Service Center at
800-933-7275
. When a shelter is not reserved it is available on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge. Reservations are recommended for weekends.
Shelter Fees
Virginia's state parks also have picnic tables and areas available first-come, first-served. Shelters vary so visit the individual park's web page and click on

at the left side of the page.
