New Patient Portal Coming May 2!
Information about our move to the CommonSpirit Patient Portal and Mobile App
Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH), including Virginia Mason Medical Center, is a member of CommonSpirit Health, a national health system caring for patients and supporting healthier communities across the country.
Together, we are
launching the CommonSpirit Patient Portal and Mobile App on May 2, 2026,
so you can continue to access your health information and manage your care. This change is the first step toward a unified patient portal for all locations across the Northwest.
While the MyVirginiaMason portal you use to access your health information online is changing, your care is not. You will continue to receive care from the same trusted providers.
Key Dates
Starting Friday, April 17, online scheduling will no longer be available through the MyVirginiaMason portal.
If you need to schedule or change an appointment between April 17 and May 2, please call your clinic or facility.
Starting Wednesday, April 29, MyVirginiaMason will become read-only.
This means patient/provider messaging will not be available through MyVirginiaMason. If you need to contact your provider during this time, please call your clinic or facility. You can continue to view your historical health information.
On May 2, you can begin using the CommonSpirit Patient Portal, powered by MyChart,
to access and manage your health information going forward.
Next Steps
You do not need to do anything right now.
On May 2, you can find clear instructions on how to download the app and create an account on our website.
If you already use MyChart, you’ll be able to easily connect your VMFH MyChart with the CommonSpirit Patient Portal on May 2.
Certain Virginia Mason departments/clinics will transition to the VMFH MyChart portal.
The Virginia Mason departments transitioning to VMFH MyChart are:
Asthma, Allergy and Immunology at VMMC (Lindeman Pavilion, Suite 101)
Hematology and Oncology at VMMC (Buck Pavilion, Suite 200)
Infusion at VMMC (Buck Pavilion, Suite 200)
Specialty Infusion Center at VMMC (Health Resources Building, Suite 200)
What You Can Expect
With online access 24/7, the CommonSpirit Patient Portal and Mobile App will provide you with quick access to your health records, allow you to manage appointments, check-in and much more.
After May 2,
messages about your care at VMMC or Virginia Mason clinics will come from CommonSpirit. Please pay attention to these messages that are from the same care team and providers you know and trust.

Yes, we take your privacy very seriously. The patient portal uses secure, industry-standard technology to protect your personal health information. Only you and your authorized caregivers can access your account, and all data is encrypted to prevent unauthorized access.
Our dedicated support team will be available to assist you with any questions or technical issues. You can reach them at

We don’t expect all of our patients to transition portals overnight. You will continue receiving communications and reminders across multiple touchpoints, on an ongoing basis. However, if you are currently using MyVirginiaMason and want to be able to manage your health care online, you will need to create a CommonSpirit Patient Portal account.
We understand that not everyone has access to technology or feels comfortable using it. You can still access your health information and manage your care by contacting your care team's office directly by phone. We are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the care and information they need, regardless of their technological preferences.
