Colonoscopy Screening
Colon cancer is the second most common cause of cancer deaths among men and women — but it can be caught and treated early with a colonoscopy screening. In fact, patients have a 90% survival rate when colon cancer is detected with a colonoscopy.
Colonoscopies are the gold standard in colon cancer prevention because they are the only test that combines detection with treatment. Pre-cancerous polyps (small growths) can be removed during the procedure before they have a chance to turn into cancer. Only a colonoscopy can examine the entire large intestine for pre-cancerous growths.
