A magical finale to the Music@Lunch concert series
23 Apr 2026
The final event in this year’s Music@Lunch concert series took place on Wednesday 22 April and it was an eclectic representation of the diversity of talent amongst the musicians of St Mary’s.
Matilda J (MIV) opened the concert with a sensitive rendition of
A Bay in Anglesey
, accompanied empathetically by Kate (MIV) on the piano.
Next we heard from two of our London College of Music singers – Octavia S-P (UIV) with a bright and energetic performance of
I Could’ve Danced All Night
, and Eleanor W (UV) who expertly captured the spirit of Billie Eilish’s
My Future
We love to celebrate students taking the lead with their music-making, so it was great to hear from Sophie X and Mika D (both UIV) who had prepared
Allegro
from Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Violins without any teacher intervention or guidance, an impressive achievement.
To close the concert we were treated to two further London College of Music performers – Bea M (LV) with a truly spellbinding performance of Eva Cassidy’s
Somewhere Over the Rainbow
, followed by Ellie T (UIV) who performed a rousing and characterful
Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend
The Music@Lunch concert series will resume again in the Autumn Term. I would like to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to all our performers who have taken part across this academic year, as well as the music teachers who have supported their preparation, and all of the audience members who have helped give our musicians a warm and friendly platform for performance. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
Mrs Sarah Loveridge, Head of Strings and Music@Lunch programmer
