School/Camp Field Trips
We welcome visits from learners Pre-K through high school. (College instructors, we ask that you check out our tour information for adult visitors.)
In 2026, the Village is open from April 18-November 29
.  We have guided and self-guided experiences that are especially compatible with social studies and life sciences curricula—but we can make just about anything work!
Below are general descriptions of our offerings.
School/Camp Field Trip Reservation Form
IN-PERSON VISITS
Guided Experiences
Our guided experiences include interactive programs that can be adapted to learners of any age. Depending on the subject focus and grade/age level, a typical visit includes the 1830 Brick Dwelling, the Round Stone Barn, the Schoolhouse, and the Discovery Barn. Students rotate through activities in small groups. The itinerary is customized for each group’s needs.
Allow 90 minutes for a guided visit. Groups are welcome to stay after the guided program to explore other areas of the Village and/or to eat lunch
Fees: In 2026, guided experiences are $8/student or camper. Classroom teachers/group leaders and paraprofessionals are admitted at no charge. Additional school- or camp-required chaperones are $15 each.
Self-guided Visits
Self-guided visits allow groups to tour the Village at your own pace, choosing activities according to your curriculum needs. Self-guided visits are especially successful with leaders who have prior knowledge of the Village. Limited resources are available from our Education Department to help make your visit successful.
In 2026, self-guided experiences are $5/student or camper. Classroom teachers/group leaders and paraprofessionals are admitted at no charge. Additional school- or camp-required chaperones are $15 each.
Visiting with School Groups during Baby Animals
During Baby Animals, we are only able to accommodate
self-guided
visits from schools, including day cares and preschools. In 2026, Baby Animals takes place from Saturday, April 18, through Sunday, May 10. All self-guided groups with more than 6 children MUST pre-register.
For the health and safety of our visitors and our animals, space for school groups is limited each day.
Please be as flexible as possible with your dates and times in order for us to best accommodate all who wish to come!

IMPORTANT:  Please note that the Village’s “Children under 12 are admitted free” program, sponsored by Berkshire Bank, applies ONLY to individual/family visits, not group visits.
Eating on Site
School and camp groups may bring food to eat in designated areas on site. Indoor seating and an outdoor picnic area are available for bag lunches on a first-come, first-serve basis.
