Areas of Focus
OCIO leads IT modernization efforts across the DOE enterprise, helping organizations develop and leverage new capabilities to remain agile and secure while harnessing emerging technologies that can help DOE achieve its missions.
OCIO is responsible for the cybersecurity of DOE systems and data across all elements of the DOE enterprise. Our extensive coordination, information-sharing, incident response, and policy implementation efforts help to ensure the continuity of operations across all of DOE’s vital mission areas.
CISO Programs
OCIO’s Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Program leads DOE’s data management and advanced analytics initiatives to collaboratively elevate data as a strategic asset, drive transformative insights, and increase operational excellence across the DOE mission space.
OCIO is tasked with ensuring enterprise-wide compliance with privacy laws, regulations, policies, and standards. This work ensures the proper disposition of departmental data and protecting sensitive and personally identifiable information.
