Our summer program for children age 2–grade 9 offers innovative classes and activities in science, art, technology, drama, and sports.
We believe that summertime is the perfect time to help stretch a child’s imagination and intellect.
Our coeducational program provides children from age 2–grade 9 with the opportunity to explore new areas of interest within a safe and comfortable learning environment.
We offer classes and workshops with age-appropriate teacher-to-student ratios allowing for individualized attention and student participation. Our staff consists of experienced, certified educators who help students build upon existing skills, develop new interests, and gain confidence. The 14-acre wooded campus provides the perfect setting for outdoor exploration and play.
Highlights of Summer Explorations
June 22–June 26, 2026
: Specialized week with our
AI Summer Institute
for students entering grades 3–9, plus enrichment programming for early childhood through grade 2.
June 29–Aug. 7, 2026:
a six-week summer program for age 2–grade 9
Half- and full-day programs: 8:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m. or 8:30 a.m.–3:15 p.m.
After-camp care from 3:15–5:30 p.m.

Weekly sessions with a variety of options, themes, and activities
Experienced, creative, caring, certified teachers leading programs
Counselors, ages 16–22, assist teachers with classes and workshops
Early Childhood Program: age 2–grade 1
Enrichment workshops are offered weekly for grades 2–6
Leadership and academic programming for grades 7–9

Programs
AGE 2–GRADE 1
This classroom-based program of up to 16 students is led by certified teachers and involves “theme weeks” and opportunities for play. Half- and full-day options are available.
Explore Early Childhood Program
GRADES 2–6
Students entering second through sixth grades choose weekly workshops, customizing their experience based on their interests. Half- and full-day options are available.
Explore Program for Grades 2–6
GRADES 7-9
Older students develop strong leadership skills through our Leaders in Training program, an intensive three-week course geared towards responsible leadership skills.

MS. LIZA HARDS
Director of Auxiliary Programs
Ms. Hards has been a faculty member at The Elisabeth Morrow School for 31 years. She has worked at EMS since 1992 as a first- and second-grade classroom teacher and has been our director of Auxiliary Programs for the past 15 years.
Ms. Hards believes that play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Summer Explorations allows students to continue skill-building while enjoying a fun camp experience.
During her free time, Ms. Hards enjoys camping, crafting, and spending time with her husband, Steve, and children, Tyler ’22 and Dana ’25.
