Welcome to the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at Pharos University in Alexandria. Since our founding in 2006, we have been committed to delivering outstanding education in the fields of tourism and hospitality. As Dean of this esteemed faculty, it is my privilege to share our mission: to provide high-quality education through engaging and interactive learning experiences that empower our students to succeed.

The Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management is accredited by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Education. We have established partnerships with leading international universities, including JAMK University (Finland), Heilbronn University (Germany), UMKC University (USA), TU Dublin (Ireland), Malaga University (Spain), Lincoln University (Malaysia), Niagara College (Canada), TOI-OHOMAI (New Zealand), and many others. We also collaborate with prominent national and international tourism and hospitality organizations.
Our faculty actively engages in international mobility programs, internships, research collaborations, exchange initiatives, and academic conferences. These efforts ensure that our programs remain aligned with the highest standards of the global tourism and hospitality industry.

The faculty prepares its graduates for the labor market through special academic programs, advanced syllabus and community projects, in addition to a number of facilities and supporting simulators, such as: Educational restaurant – Educational kitchen – Travel agency – Front office – Hotel guest room – Language labs
The existence of a specialized educational platform (Blackboard), supported by an advanced strategy for teaching, learning, and assessment and equipped with the latest hybrid education methods.

Q1: What is the minimum acceptance requirement for the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at Pharos University?
A1: The minimum acceptance requirement is determined annually according to the decision of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities during the academic year of the application.
Q2: When is the final result of admission at the university announced?
A2: After the admission phases are over, the university announces and communicates the names of accepted students for the purpose of conducting a personal interview. The student is not considered enrolled within the university until the university releases the results of the personal interview, obtains approval from the Ministry of Higher Education, and the student pays the tuition fees.
Q3: How can students or applicants apply to the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at Pharos University?
A3: The application is done by heading to the Pharos University campus and submitting the required documents according to the university’s regulations and in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities during the applied academic year.
Q4: Is there a high priority for early applicants?
A4: The priority in acceptance is based on the date of application, as long as it is within the specified period. Priority is given to the highest score, meeting the required documents, and passing the personal interview.
Q5: What is the duration of study at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management – Pharos University? And how many courses are there per semester?
A5: According to the credit hours system, the duration of study is 4 years, consisting of two semesters per year (fall and spring semesters). There is also a summer semester for improvement or completion of any unfinished courses. Each semester has a set of courses based on the study plan for that semester, and the number of courses per semester ranges from 6 to 8.
Q6: What is the duration of study at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management – Pharos University? And how many courses are there per semester?
A6: The university administration registers courses for the first semester and assigns an academic advisor to each group of students. Students then register for their courses according to their individual study plans, as guided by their academic advisor. Starting from the semester in which the student is enrolled, the advisor accepts or adjusts the registration.
Q7: Does the student specialize in a specific department during their studies?
A7: Yes, after studying and successfully completing both the first and second years, students specialize starting in the third year. It is within the student’s rights to specialize after completing a certain number of credit hours, according to college regulations. Students are allowed to specialize in the following departments:

A8: English is the main medium of instruction in Pharos University, except for the Arabic language course, which is a university requirement. There is also a second language course that the student can choose starting from the first semester after joining the college.
