Geriatric Care
Specialized care for older adults
is of paramount importance due to the unique healthcare needs and challenges that come with ageing.
As people age, they are more likely to develop multiple chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, arthritis, and osteoporosis. They are also more likely to develop cognitive decline such as Alzheimer’s dementia. These conditions often require careful management and coordination to prevent complications and ensure the best possible quality of life. The Geriatrics Unit of UBTH is very committed to providing an all-encompassing care to you or your loved ones.
Here, we understand the challenges that arise when seeking hospital care for yourself or a loved one. Our dedicated geriatrics team is committed to ensuring that your hospital stay is as comfortable as possible. We are here to address your questions, alleviate your concerns, and offer support throughout our clients’ time with us and afterward.
Our 20-bed unit (including one private room) is dedicated to individuals aged 60 years and above. Our expert team includes physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals with specialized training to cater to the unique needs of older persons.
