Transfer Student Admissions
Catawba College describes a transfer student as anyone who has attended a college or university after high school graduation.
If you are completing college courses while in high school, you are considered a
first-year student
who may be bringing college credit with you, but not a transfer student.

Catawba College offers one pathway for transfer applicants to apply.

You must also submit the following supplemental items to complete your admissions file:
An
unofficial college transcript
from every college or university you have attended. NOTE: In addition to the requirements listed below, international applicants must also provide translated and evaluated transcripts of ALL academic transcripts through a
NACES approved organization
.
NOTE: If you are using The Evaluation Company for the translation and evaluation of your transcript, you must select the "Course Analysis" evaluation for Undergraduate Admissions and the "Divisional Course Analysis" evaluation for Graduate Admissions.
If you do not have an associate's degree or do not have at least 24 hours of college credit, you are required to provide an official copy of your final
high school transcript.

Transfer students are strongly encouraged to submit their application for admission and supplemental materials to Catawba College
by August 1 for the fall semester
, and
no later than two weeks prior to the Spring semester
.
You must be academically and socially eligible to return to the school you are currently attending or in which you were previously enrolled; and must have attained a cumulative college GPA of 2.0 or higher.
You must be attending or have attended an accredited college or university. Students who are attending or have attended an accredited 2-year community or junior college may transfer up to 60 semester hours of credit to Catawba College.  Graduates of North Carolina Community College degree programs covered under the 2015 Independent Comprehensive Articulation Agreement may receive up to 64 semester hours of transfer credit. Students who have attended or are currently attending an accredited four-year institution may transfer up to 90 semester hours of credit to Catawba College, as determined by Catawba’s Registrar.
Students with less than 24 hours of college level course work will be evaluated for admission based on their academic performance in high school as well as in college level course work. Students with 24 or more credits of college credit will be evaluated based on their transfer work only.
Students entering the traditional college program with fewer than 18 semester hours will have their records reviewed on an individual basis to determine appropriate placement in the First Year Seminar course. All students must satisfy the core requirements and other graduation requirements set forth in the Catawba College Catalog.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
You may submit it as soon as possible after October 1st of your senior year. Our FAFSA code is 002914.
Once you have been accepted to Catawba College and we have received the valid results of your FAFSA, the Office of Financial Aid will process your financial aid package.
