Admissions FAQs
Each student is reviewed for scholarships automatically based on everything submitted during the application process. This includes school transcripts, test scores, letters of recommendation and the optional resume.

Both AP and IB classes are accepted and transferred in provided the following:
Our University offers Advanced Placement (AP) credit toward a degree to those students who submit official test scores of 3, 4 or 5 on any examination. How much credit awarded depends on which exams are taken, the scores, and their relevance to the specific Embry-Riddle degree program. View the

IB SL and HL credit will be given if you score a 4 or higher in some tests or a 5 or higher in other tests.

The
undergraduate admissions process
requires that the following must be submitted:
Application (You also have the option to
apply online
Transcripts (Sent directly from your High School or other Institution)
Two Letters of Recommendation (Teacher, boss, Flight Instructor, etc.)
Optional essay or resume
Optional SAT and/or ACT scores (Sent directly from the testing service)
$50 Application Fee

Once all documents have been received, an admissions decision can be made.
The admissions process is the same except in the case that if you have over 30 credits at another institution, we will not require that you take the ACT or SAT or that you turn in any high school transcripts. Most admissions decisions can be based on the level of classes you take for English and Math.

Financial aid is available for all students from various sources. The best way to qualify for these funds is to first fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA becomes available Oct. 1 of the year in which you intend to start college. Award notifications (notification of scholarships, grants, and government loan opportunities) take anywhere from 3-6 weeks after FAFSA submittal. For more information,

ERAU undergraduate admissions is a rolling, ongoing process. You can technically apply to the school and be accepted up to the day that school starts (not recommended). Scholarships and housing are on a first-come, first-served basis. Below are other important dates:
October 1st — First day FAFSA becomes available for all students entering school that year.
May 1st — Tuition deposit deadline for the fall semester.
In order to apply at the University, students applying from High School must have had:
4 years of English
2 or more years of lab science (Chemistry, Physics, etc.)
3 or 4 years of Math
Technical Majors — Math up to at least Precalculus
Non-Technical Majors — Math up to at least Algebra II
The admissions process for international students is the same except it has some additional requirements:
SAT test scores are not required but highly recommended.
Copies of transcripts from any school or institution must be official.
If English is not your primary language, you must take the TOEFL and score a 79 or higher on the internet-based test or at least a 6 on the IELTS.
International students must provide proof of funding for the first year of schooling
An admissions decision is based on the "whole person" concept where everything that you submit in the application process is reviewed and used to make a final decision. This includes the following:
Transcripts from high school or another institution
GPA
Class Rank
Types of classes taken (related to your degree interest)
AP, IB, and honors classes
Overall school grade trend
Extracurricular Activities
Leadership Experience
Letters of Recommendation (Optional)
SAT/ACT scores (Optional)
Resume (Optional)
Essay (Optional)
Flight experience (Optional)
ERAU does not have required minimums at this time. Below are the averages for an accepted student.
Average GPA: 3.73 (out of 4.0)
Average SAT: 1213 (Math and Reading sections only)
Average ACT: 26
Transfer guides are available for many institutions, but as a rule of thumb, just remember that the more basic classes such as English, Math, Speech, Psychology, etc. have a much better chance at transferring in than others.

to see if your school has an available online transfer guide. If you are unable to find your school, call the admissions office to see if a paper version is available for you school or if you would like to create a Transfer Admissions Agreement (TAA).
In most cases, ERAU does its best to transfer as many credits into the University as possible. Credits  will only be transferred if they are deemed by our Records Office and faculty as equivalent classes required for degree completion. This includes open electives.
Upon acceptance, the Records Office will automatically do a transfer credit evaluation and mail the student a copy.
