Donor-Advised Fund
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are a popular, tax-savvy, and flexible way to give to multiple charities and receive a tax deduction in the year the fund is established. Many donors enjoy using a DAF because it reduces annual income tax and allows you to make charitable gifts on your timetable.
How to give with a DAF: Instruct your DAF account manager to make a gift to Dunwoody or other charities with the following information:
Attn: Institutional Advancement
Dunwoody College of Technology
818 Dunwoody Blvd
Minneapolis, MN 55403
Dunwoody’s Tax ID number: 41-0693856
IRA Giving
If you are age 70 ½ or older and you own an IRA, you can make tax-free IRA contributions directly to Dunwoody up to $105,000 each year. For more information, visit our
Gift Planning page
Be sure to email us at
development@dunwoody.edu
when you direct the rollover so we can look for the check from your IRA administrator.
Stock Transfer
A gift of appreciated securities, including stocks or bonds, can offer significant tax benefits. It allows you to deduct the amount from your taxable income and avoid capital gains tax on the growth of your stock.
The fastest and easiest way to make a gift of stock is to have your broker perform an electronic transfer. You can also contact Dunwoody’s broker at:
Brokerage firm: U.S. Bank Corp
Client Specialist: Brooke Degnan-Tupy
Email:
brooke.degnantupy@usbank.com
Dunwoody College of Technology account number: 080015259600
Dunwoody’s Tax ID number: 41-0693856
DTC number: 2803
Be sure to email
development@dunwoody.edu
to notify us of your plans so that when the shares are transferred, we will recognize the source of the gift.
Wire or ACH Funds
Arranging for a wire transfer involves specific instructions, including Dunwoody’s account information. For security purposes, we ask you to reach out to us to receive those instructions in a protected format.
For instructions, contact our development office at
development@dunwoody.edu
or 612.381.3064.
In-Kind
In-kinds are charitable gifts of goods – such as equipment, machinery, vehicles, and tools – that support the mission of Dunwoody College. To begin the process, please reach out to us at
development@dunwoody.edu
or 612.381.3064.
In order for Dunwoody College to accept an in-kind gift, the gift must be approved by the appropriate department head/dean and the Institutional Advancement office.
Matching Gifts
Many employers will match your gift, allowing you to double – even triple – the value of your gift to Dunwoody. Ask your HR department if your company matches gifts made by employees (or retirees).
Faculty and Staff Payroll Giving
Through payroll giving, the amount of your choice will be deducted from each bi-monthly paycheck. Every gift, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated and will be counted toward our goal. To get started, fill out the
Payroll Giving Form
on Launchpad.
