Get to Know Me
I was born in Germany. As a kid I was curious, adventurous, and wanted to be an architect. I had a strong desire to help people, especially those in developing countries. I decided the best way for me to help people was to become a doctor. In medical school, I trained three months in Lesotho, South Africa, and while working with many U.S. physicians, decided the best place to train would be the U.S.
Why I Treat Children
Working with children doesn’t feel like work at all. It’s pure fun. Also, I like being part of a team to help children get better. Just to see them walk out of the hospital, often cured and happy, is worth all the effort.
What I'm Passionate About
My passion is fetal cardiology. Working in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team, I try to help expecting moms decide the best route of treatment for their baby’s heart condition. I feel it’s important to relay the information in understandable terms and to give the family the big picture of what to expect for their baby’s future.
How I Try to Make A Difference
With each patient, I try to work in the moment – making them the center of my attention. I feel it's my duty to provide excellent care and compassion.
