Innovation Center
The Innovation Center at NECO partners and consults with companies to develop, create, and bring to market emerging technology through evaluation, testing, validation studies, and more. We regularly test, brainstorm, study, and consult on nearly a dozen industry projects every year.
Tomorrow's Optometry
Through unique industry partnerships, we help shape the future of eye care while also preparing future optometrists for an evolving profession.
NECO helped evaluate software for the next generation equipment for refraction.
Evaluating & Piloting Emerging Technologies
NECO Innovation Center evaluated new software and an automated binocular refraction system new to the market.
Our clinicians also helped pilot QuickSee, a handheld autorefractor developed by MIT-born startup PlenOptika, that allows optometry professionals to provide mobile screenings.
The Power of Collaboration
Dubbed the NECO Industry Collaborative, this annual meeting represents an occasion where leaders from multiple areas of the vision care industry and optometric education can gather to openly discuss the future of the profession.
