SECURITIES
Gifts of stock, bonds and mutual funds make an ideal charitable gift for both the donor and LJCDS. The charitable deduction is based on the fair market value on the day the gift is made. Please notify the Office of Philanthropy of your transfer.
Key Advantage:
Tax advantages that reduce capital gains, and still may result in a tax deduction.
COMPLETE FORM
DONOR ADVISED FUNDS
LJCDS welcomes contributions from your donor advised fund (DAF) or family foundation. Below are details you will need to complete your funding request.
La Jolla Country Day School

IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER
If you are 70½ or older, you can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) that fulfills your required minimum distribution (RMD) and provides tax benefits.
Key advantage:
A direct transfer can fulfill your minimum required distribution and is tax-free. This gift can be done every year.
CHARITABLE BEQUEST
A charitable bequest is a meaningful and the simplest way to leave a legacy at La Jolla Country Day School through your will or trust.
Key Advantage:
A bequest doesn't require cash during your lifetime but allows you to make an impact and be part of the giving experience while you are living.
RETIREMENT BENEFICIARY
Designate LJCDS as a beneficiary of your retirement assets, including your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension or other tax-deferred plan. Consult with your retirement plan custodian and complete a Beneficiary Designation Form naming LJCDS as a beneficiary.
Key Advantage:
Avoids income tax on retirement assets for heirs and maximizes the impact of your gift to LJCDS, requiring no monetary gift today.
IN-KIND: BLUE BASH
Gift in-kind contributions provide auction items for the silent and live auction. Gifts may include use of a vacation home, unique experiences, shadowing opportunities and items of interest that can be used in the silent or live auctions during the annual fundraising gala Blue Bash.
