Global Tertiary Pathways
Students at The King's School continually achieve high academic results ensuring entry to many commendable universities and tertiary institutions both in Australia and abroad.
As an increasing number of students are now attending universities and colleges internationally, we aim to support students who seek these opportunities to further their studies overseas.
As such, The King's School hosts testing days for both current students and those externally, as they look to pursue further education abroad.

SAT
SAT
scores are used by students applying for Colleges and Universities in the USA. The SAT exams are usually sat by Australian students in Years 10-12 and can be taken on average 3 times. The SAT is digital and covers Reading, Writing, Language and Maths.
The King’s School is now an accredited international test centre in Australia for the US College Board. Tests are conducted on four Saturday mornings throughout the year in the Centre for Learning and Leadership (CLL) on the Senior Campus.
Testing commences at 8.00am (please plan to arrive no later than 7.30am for pre-test registration); testing concludes at approximately 11.00am. Late arrivals will not be admitted once testing has commenced.
Registration is now open for the August 2025–June 2026 SAT® Weekend administrations. The King’s School is a hosting centre for the examination on the following dates:
8 November 2025
6 December 2025
14 March 2026

open a student account
with the US College Board. Students are then able to
register to take the SAT
on their preferred testing date, noting that registration is made directly via the College Board. The SAT Test Centre Number for The King’s School is 87966. All changes also need to be made with College Board prior to the

The King’s School is also offering the SAT Suite of exams which includes (
PSAT8/9
,
PSAT10
and
PSAT/NMSQT
).
The PSAT 8/9 and PSAT10 are exams students can take prior to the SAT. Both exams are optional and the results provide insight to assist students to prepare for the SATs. They are completed digitally in March and like the SAT, they cover Reading, Writing and Language and Maths. Usually, Year 9 students would complete the PSAT 8/9 and Year 10/Year 11 will complete the PSAT 10. They are both the same length of time and cost.
Additionally, Year 11 students who hold U.S. citizenship are automatically assessed for eligibility into the National Merit Scholarship Program via the PSAT/NMSQT offered in October, an academic program which recognises and qualifies students for scholarships in the United States. Students who are not U.S citizens will not be considered for NMSQT eligibility, however, will receive full PSAT10 score reports, should they choose to test in October.
Please note US College Board stipulates students in Year 10 and/or Year 11 are only permitted to take the PSAT10 or PSAT/NMSQT a single time in any calendar year, either April or October.
Students who are interested in taking the PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10, or PSAT/NMSQT are required to complete the registration process via

Oxford and Cambridge Admission Tests
The majority of applicants for Oxford and Cambridge are required to sit one of the many admissions tests used by the universities to determine if a place is offered for a specific degree. Not all courses have admission tests and students can check
test requirements
for their desired course.
In 2025/2026, all Oxford and Cambridge Admission Tests are being
held in conjunction with Pearson Vue testing centres and students book directly with them and choose a test centre
convenient to them.
