The comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation services at Robert Wood Johnson
University Hospital Rahway can help you get back to living life to the
fullest. The RWJUH Rahway Rehab team consistently earns praise from patients
for the care they give. Our highly skilled therapists work with patients
to help them return to their highest level of function.
Physical Therapists motivate you to exceed your goals. Whether you are
recovering from surgery, an injury, neurologic impairment or illness,
our therapists use creativity and compassion to develop individualized
treatment plans. In addition to our spacious rehab department within the
hospital, we also offer physical therapy at two state-of-the-art Fitness
Centers in Scotch Plains and Carteret, with
aquatic therapy
at select locations.
Occupational Therapists excel at creating a plan to assist patients to
perform their activities of daily living with ease. This can mean re-learning
skills to perform certain tasks or learning modifi cations to regain independence.
These therapists specialize in treating patients with orthopedic conditions
such as hand/wrist pain, overuse injuries, as well as neurologic impairments
following stroke.
The Speech Program at RWJUH Rahway provides a full range of services to
patients ranging from pre-school to adult. Our therapists are licensed
to evaluate and treat patients with a broad range of communication, voice,
speech and language disorders as well as feeding and swallowing impairments.
The department offers Vital Stim therapy for patients with dysphagia,
Lee Silverman Voice treatment for Parkinson’s Disease and Modifi
ed Barium Swallow Studies.
