Professional teacher licensure
The College of Education and its degree programs are authorized by the State of Ohio. The College of Education is accredited by the
Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)
. The teacher licensing program at Central State University College of Education prepares the candidate for licensure in the State of Ohio. Transferring licensure from Ohio to another state may require additional specific requirements be met. It is recommended that candidates contact the licensing agency of the state where they wish to teach for specific state requirements beyond earning a license in the State of Ohio.
The National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC)

maintains a list of interstate agreements of the 50 signees--47 states, Guam, the District of Columbia, and the Department of Defense Education Activity that have agreed to provide guidelines for interstate reciprocity. All transfer of licenses is determined on a case-by-case basis.
