SPARK Team
, a districtwide strategic action team focused on strengthening and sustaining our signature programs, including STEAM/MSA, IB, Dual Language Immersion, Traditional, AVID, and CGP.
We are inviting
parents and community members
to apply to participate in this collaborative work. The SPARK Team will help guide continuous improvement, explore future program opportunities, and ensure our signature programs remain strong, sustainable, and aligned with student and community needs.

Echo Canyon Repurposing: Family Information & Next Steps

Thank you to the families, staff, and community members who shared their voices and participated in recent conversations and share feedback regarding the future of Echo Canyon School.
Last night, the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board voted to repurpose Echo Canyon School following careful consideration of enrollment trends, facility use, and long-term sustainability across the district.
We recognize this is an emotional time for students, parents and staff. Echo Canyon has a strong school community, and we understand the impact this transition has on the students, families, and staff who call Echo Canyon home.

Scottsdale Unified School District is opening its doors to future families with a series of kindergarten roundups and a districtwide expo, offering parents and students a firsthand look at classrooms, programs and community culture.
Dr. Christine Bonow, assistant superintendent of elementary and K-8 schools, said the events are designed to give families the tools they need to make informed choices about their child’s education.
“SUSD is proud to offer full day kindergarten at each of our elementary and K-8 schools,” Bonow said. “Kindergarten round ups are wonderful events offered three times per school year that provide prospective parents and children an opportunity to tour the school, meet with school administrators and see kindergarten classrooms in action.”

In January, Anasazi Elementary School was officially certified by the local
Blue Zones

Arizona has always been a destination for adventurers and visionaries. Chief among them, Scottsdale’s founder, Chaplain Winfield Scott. Within a couple of years of arriving in the Valley of the Sun, he quickly realized offering a premiere educational experience was key to providing pioneers a reason to stay in Scottsdale and, with that, the Scottsdale School System was born.
