Academic Programming at RHP
Rolling Hills Prep honors the unique way each student learns by offering three distinct academic pathways, each providing the right balance of challenge and support. Our flexible approach allows students to move between programs based on their individual strengths and needs.
RHP Curriculum 2026-2027
RHP Program (Grades 5-12)
The Rolling Hills Prep Program offers a rigorous academic curriculum within a supportive environment where educators recognize students’ strengths while encouraging them to explore their passions. With the guidance of dedicated advisors, students set goals, follow personalized learning paths, and track their progress.
Middle School Experience

students follow a traditional academic curriculum that builds strong foundations. Those who excel in math and physics may qualify to take upper school courses in these subjects. Additionally, students begin Spanish in Grade 6 and can continue with Spanish in upper school or explore another language.
Upper School Experience

, RHP students complete the standard A-G college requirements, along with additional science and elective coursework. They may also choose to pursue a Specialized Diploma in the Arts, STEM, or Global Studies, allowing them to focus on their passions by incorporating relevant electives into their schedules starting in Grade 9.
Specialized Diploma Programs
RHP Program with Learning Support (Grades 5-12)
When we recognize the many ways students learn and tailor instruction to meet their unique learning styles, they gain the confidence to navigate school and life as creative problem solvers and independent, lifelong learners.
This program celebrates and supports diverse learning styles, providing each student with a dedicated learning support team. Together, they develop essential study skills, self-advocacy, and strategies for lifelong learning. As students master academic content, they also discover how they learn best—empowering them to graduate as confident self-advocates.
Middle School Support
In middle school, students focus on study and learning strategies tailored to their individual needs within each core class. These strategies include test preparation, assistive technology, self-advocacy, and executive functioning skills such as time management, organization, prioritization, and goal setting.
Additionally, students work with a dedicated learning specialist in small groups three times a week. These sessions provide targeted support—whether reinforcing study strategies, offering remediation in language or math, or helping students complete classwork.
Upper School Integration
In the upper school, students are primarily co-seated with RHP students, as both follow a college preparatory track. They also have one or two dedicated support blocks in their schedules for reinforcement. Students may opt for learning support classes in areas where they need additional assistance—typically math or subjects requiring significant writing or memorization. For example, chemistry with learning support prioritizes skill development and hands-on labs over rote memorization, ensuring students grasp key concepts in a way that works for them.

REACH Program (Grades 9-12)
When students receive specialized support in an environment that embraces their unique learning styles, they develop both a love for learning and deeper self-understanding.
The REACH program helps students navigate academics and social relationships in a warm, inclusive setting. Each student benefits from a personalized plan and one-on-one teaching in small classes where instruction is tailored to individual needs rather than age-based expectations.
This specialized boutique program serves students who may not typically access an independent school experience, guiding them toward an IEP diploma and confident next steps.
Hybrid Options
We recognize that students may excel in some areas while needing support in others. Students may move between programs—for example, opting for some  classes with learning support while primarily in the REACH program—based on their individual strengths and needs.
