We offer a range of events, activities and resources for your classroom that will help your students as they make decisions about their future and consider studying at University.
Our campus remains open
We recognise that the recent meningitis outbreak in Canterbury
may be a cause for concern amongst visitors to our campus.
This has been a regional public health matter with the response
led by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). Following their guidance,
our
campus remains open
We have been reassured by the authorities that the
peak of the outbreak has now passed and, whilst we are continuing to encourage
our community to
remain vigilant of symptoms
, we are
welcoming visitors to events and activities on campus as normal.
We extend
our thanks to the incredible public health teams who acted
quickly to contact and support those most at risk. Those seeking further
updates can access the
latest UKHSA information
and
NHS advice
online.

Our work with schools
The University has close relationships with local schools, including members of the
Kent and Medway Progression Federation
(KMPF). The University is the lead institution for the
Kent and Medway Collaborative Outreach Programme (KaMCOP)
which is part of the national
Uni Connect
programme, funded through the Office for Students.
The University is also a member of the
East Kent Schools Together
(EKST) partnership. EKST is a collaborative network of state and independent schools working together, sharing resources where appropriate and collaborating for the benefit of young people in the region, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Our partnerships are at the heart of our work with schools. Working closely with secondary schools, we aim to give your students a better understanding of the benefits of higher education and all that the University of Kent has to offer.
Our work with local colleges
The University has partnerships with the
East Kent Colleges Group
MidKent College
and
North Kent College
. These relationships encompass outreach and progression activities, the development of higher and degree apprenticeships and the delivery of Kent validated HE programmes (HE in FE).
There are two main elements to the University’s partnerships with FE Colleges. Over 150 students in the three partner colleges are studying on university level programmes which are franchised and validated by the University of Kent.
In addition, the University also delivers a programme of bespoke progression activities to FE and Access students studying in local colleges. These include tailored information talks and workshops, subject specific events and activities and a two day campus residential which aim to raise aspiration and support attainment. The University also offers activities within the colleges as part of the KaMCOP (
Uni Connect
programme).
