The Future of Learning
Alleyn’s School
The Future of Learning
True to the spirit of our founder, Edward Alleyn, we embrace opportunities to shape the future of our children and their education, so that we as a School can continue to evolve into All We Can Be.
The Future of Learning
We want to be at the vanguard of learning, soaking up new thinking and innovation close to home and across the world. Children can be the freshest thinkers and it is our duty to give them the materials to bring their creativity, sense of wonder and enthusiasm to every day at school, so that they develop a love of learning in its purest sense, as well as build the skills that they will need for the jobs of the future. Grounded in our strong history and the excellent education we offer today, our mission is to shape a future curriculum that combines new thinking and exciting advances in tech with traditional disciplines to prepare children for the world of tomorrow.
Tech innovation
We believe that education and learning sit hand in hand with innovation. We are establishing a global network of partners so that we can collaborate with leading experts to bring new ideas, technologies and disciplines into the global classroom. It is essential to ensure pupils are equipped with the ability to innovate, adapt and think critically using advance digital skills so they can navigate, contribute to and thrive in an ever-evolving, interconnected global digital society. Digital expertise should be integrated into, not separate from, a future-focused, first-rate education and core tenets that underline human creativity, ethics and communication should remain at its core.
The Power of Place
We recognise the power of place on how children learn and on their wellbeing, and that our school environment can be shaped in a way which inspires learning and embodies Alleyn’s values to create one unifying Alleyn’s Experience. Small changes such as the amount of light in a room, acoustic management and tactile surfaces can create calmer environments, break-out areas, or spaces for discovery and collaboration.
The Alleyn’s Experience
We want these ideas to inform the scope of the Alleyn’s Experience: from our vision for our curriculum and the creation of school environments, to the opportunities we create for children to discover themselves on the stage, the sports pitch or in the playground.
The Masterplan
Having completed an architectural master planning exercise in 2022 we’re now in the position to understand how we can better use our school site for learning now, and in the future, as well as lower our carbon footprint through energy saving and putting sustainability at the core of our decision making across the school site.
