St Patrick’s College, Strathfield is a Catholic school for boys in the Edmund Rice tradition that began with an enrolment of 39 boys in 1928 and today offers a quality education to over 1,600 boys from Years 5 to 12.
We are immensely proud of the opportunities that are afforded to students here at St Patrick’s College, with a robust co-curricular sporting and cultural program, excellence in learning and teaching, and faith formation and prayer life that assists in developing young men who are prepared for a dynamic world.
Our College is built on the legacy of the Christian Brothers, and we proudly continue in the tradition of Blessed Edmund Rice. We are seeking an experienced and organised
Science Laboratory Manager
to lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of our science laboratories. This
permanent full

time position worked during term time only
is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on, student‑focused environment and enjoys supporting high‑quality practical learning.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily laboratory operations, equipment maintenance and WHS compliance
Manage chemical storage, handling, labelling and disposal (SafeWork NSW, GHS, Chemwatch)
Prepare materials, solutions and equipment for practical science lessons
Support teaching staff with experiment planning and data logging tools (Pasco)
Lead and support Laboratory staff and oversee daily operations
About you
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Applied Science (e.g. Diploma or Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques) or a related field
Laboratory experience (school setting preferred) with strong WHS and chemical safety knowledge
Skilled in preparing risk assessments and compliance documentation
Highly organised with strong communication and teamwork skills
Current WWCC (or willingness to obtain one), First Aid Certificate, WHS training and NSW driver’s licence

We are seeking expressions of interest from casual Primary (Stage 3) and Secondary teachers (Stage 4 to Stage 6). You will be employed on a day-to-day basis to replace temporary or permanent teachers who are on short-term leave.

Essential Criteria
A commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.

Qualified Secondary Teacher (note subject/s you are qualified to teach) or Primary Teacher with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
