Call for Proposals: National Program for Research and Innovation in Medical and Health Sciences (PRISM) – 2026 Cycle
Within the framework of Egypt’s National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in line with the commitment to translating scientific research into practical healthcare solutions that benefit Egyptian citizens, the
Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT)
announces the launch of the
2026 cycle of the National Program for Research and Innovation in Medical and Health Sciences (PRISM)
, starting
1 February 2026
.
The PRISM program aims to support innovative research projects that contribute to strengthening the healthcare system and accelerating the translation of laboratory findings into impactful medical, clinical, and economic applications.
Available Funding Tracks
The program offers distinguished financial support through three specialized tracks:
Inno-Health Track
Supports healthcare innovation and prototype development for medical technologies and solutions.
CRS Track (Clinical Research Stream)
Designed to fund high-quality clinical research projects aligned with international scientific and ethical standards.
TRANS-B2B Track
Focuses on translational research that bridges the gap between laboratory discoveries and patient-centered clinical applications.
National Priority Areas
The 2026 cycle prioritizes research addressing major national health challenges, including:
Oncology
Obesity and metabolic health
Infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
Digital health technologies, artificial intelligence, and medical technology

Call for Applications: ICGEB Collaborative Research Programme (CRP) Grants
The Academy announces the availability of research grants offered by the
International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB)
under the
Collaborative Research Programme (CRP)
. The program is designed to support internationally collaborative research projects in life sciences and biotechnology, with the aim of strengthening global scientific cooperation and promoting knowledge exchange among research institutions.

The fellowships aim to support outstanding PhD holders of any nationality in advancing their research careers through advanced training, innovation, and international mobility.

Types of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships
European Postdoctoral Fellowships
Open to researchers of any nationality wishing to move to Europe or within Europe to implement a research project.

Global Postdoctoral Fellowships
Open to European nationals or long-term residents in Europe.
Include an
outgoing phase
of
12–24 months
in a non-associated Third Country, followed by a
mandatory 12-month return phase
in Europe.
Application Conditions
Applications must be jointly submitted by the researcher and the host institution, which may be academic or non-academic. Projects may be hosted in EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries, or Third Countries depending on the fellowship type.
