After several months' work of preparation, Lake Forest Academy continued its tradition of a strong presence at the annual Model United Nations of the University of Chicago (MUNUC) Conference. The conference, which was held Feb. 5-8 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, is one of the world's largest high school conferences with over 2,000 students in attendance from around the United States.
46 Caxys were in attendance at this year's conference, making LFA's delegation one of the largest present. LFA students served on various committees, including general assemblies, regional bodies, hybrid committees, and continuing crisis groups. Among the countries LFA was assigned this year were Sudan, Iraq, Lebanon, Guatemala, and Zambia.
All of LFA's committees saw the successful passing of a resolution and many delegates specifically saw their blocs' working papers serve as the backbone of the resolutions. LFA's delegates were praised for their work in action, as they performed well in both moderated and unmoderated caucuses and excelled at parliamentary procedure. One LFA student also earned individual recognition —

was awarded a Verbal Commendation for his work on the committee "Confederation at a Crossroads: Navigating the Senegambian Future, 1981".
This year marked the 38th year of MUNUC and LFA maintains the distinction of being one of the few remaining charter members that has participated in all 38 years of the conference.
