AI in Education: Students Lead the Conversation
Two Year 12 students, Kate and Eullo recently had the exciting opportunity to speak on a panel at the Artificial Intelligence in Education Conference, held at the Crowne Plaza in Adelaide. The event brought together educators, researchers, and students to explore how AI is transforming the way we teach and learn.
The panel gave students a platform to share their experiences and views on the rapidly growing role of artificial intelligence in education.
Representing Nazareth with confidence and insight, Kate and Eullo spoke about how AI tools are already shaping their learning . They discussed their own personal use of AI and what the future might hold for us as we move into a world with AI at the forefront.
When reflecting on his experience, Eullo noted that “Hearing about how other schools are using AI was an interesting perspective,” continuing that, “the advent of Artificial Intelligence comes with positives and negatives. It was comforting to see that our school has made sure to keep up to date in AI.”
The panel’s comments sparked meaningful discussion about the balance between embracing new technologies and maintaining academic integrity. They also raised thoughtful questions about how schools and teachers can support students in using AI responsibly.
Throughout the event, Kate and Eullo engaged with a range of professionals, including school leaders, developers, and fellow students, gaining valuable insights and further developing their public speaking and leadership skills. We are so proud to see our students at the forefront of such important discussions. By contributing to events such as this, our students are not only preparing for the future, but they’re also helping shape it.
