Haj is mentioned in the Hadith as one of the Pillars of Islam. Haj is an imperative duty (Fardh) for all Muslims who have the resources to carry it out. It is to be performed during the days of Haj, once in a lifetime. However, one may perform it more than once. Haj is an ibadah in which money and strength are spent in Allah's way. It is a test of patience too. Haj also provides Muslims from all parts of the world the opportunity of meeting at a central venue to strengthen the bonds of Muslim Brotherhood and humanity.
ഇസ്‌ലാമിന്റെ സ്തംഭങ്ങളിലൊന്നായാണ് ഹദീസിൽ ഹജ്ജിനെ പരാമർശിക്കുന്നത്. ഹജ്ജ് നിർവഹിക്കാൻ വിഭവശേഷിയുള്ള എല്ലാ മുസ്ലീങ്ങൾക്കും ഹജ് അനിവാര്യമായ കടമയാണ് (ഫർദ്). ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും ഇത് നിർവഹിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. എന്നിരുന്നാലും, ഒരാൾക്ക് ഇത് ഒന്നിലധികവും ചെയ്യാവുന്നതാണ്. അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ മാർഗത്തിൽ പണം ചെലവഴിക്കുകയും അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ പ്രീതിക്കായി ശക്തി സമർപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ഇബാദത്താണ് ഹജ്. അതേ സമയം അത് ക്ഷമയുടെ പരീക്ഷണവുമാണ്. മുസ്‌ലിം സാഹോദര്യ ബന്ധം ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനായി ലോകത്തിന്റെ എല്ലാ ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുമുള്ള മുസ്‌ലിംകൾക്ക് ഒരു കേന്ദ്ര വേദിയിൽ ഒത്തുകൂടാനുള്ള അവസരവും ഹജ് നൽകുന്നു.

About Haj Pilgrimage
India is a pluralistic society which is home to more than 147 million Muslims. Indian Muslims constitute the second largest Muslim community in the world. The Haj is incumbent upon all adult Muslims of sound mind with the necessary physical capacity and financial capability. Successive Indian governments have accepted assistance to Indian nationals for the successful performance of the Haj as a serious responsibility. This is viewed as a concrete manifestation of adherence to the principles of secularism enshrined in the Indian Constitution. These principles engender a deep respect for all the religions practiced by Indian citizens and inculcate a commitment to provide all facilities to enable Indian nationals to fulfill their religious obligations in peace and comfort. It is in the context of this commitment that the Haj Section of the Consulate General of India functions as a nodal agency in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to facilitate the pilgrimage of more than 1,75,000 Indian citizens annually.
