Galesburg, IL:
population 33,000
Distance from campus: 3 blocks
Value of connections: priceless
According to Susan Gibbs, theatre and music major from St. Louis, MO:
I’ve fallen in love with the small-town aesthetics of Galesburg. There’s hardly any traffic. The streets are busy. It’s kept clean. It’s within walking distance. It’s a town with a lot of history…gorgeous houses, antique malls, various architectures. The arts scene in Galesburg is on the climb.
It’s nice to be within walking distance of some good restaurants and nice stores. There are a lot of outreach programs that connect Knox and Galesburg like jazz nights at the Galesburg Arts Center and the Knox Rocks concert featuring pop, funk bands, and guitar ensembles.
Why Choose Knox?
There are so many things to do and events to attend. Knox is very accepting of who you are as a person. I can be who I am, my friends can be who they want to be. There’s no judgment. People are willing to share with you things you haven’t been exposed to before.
Maddie Hicks
Biology & Neuroscience Major from Stansbury, UT
Professors are centered on teaching. They care about their subjects, and they are brilliant. Some of the brightest researchers, talented writers, and sharpest critics are here, and they really care deeply about their students.
Jed Bothe
Creative Writing & English Literature Major from Oregon, IL
Knox is very helpful with financial aid. The price tag seems so huge and inaccessible. I pay so much less to get this amazing education. It’s a great deal. If you’re concerned about paying, especially first-generation students…you need to know Knox is a great opportunity to get a great education.
Josh Carlos
History Major from Centennial, CO
