Immunohistochemistry
The Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Laboratory utilizes two automated staining systems:
The flexible Biocare intelliPATH™ FLX is an open platform system capable of supporting multiple users and staining 50 slides simultaneously.
The fully automated Ventana Discovery™ XT is a start to finish system capable of staining 30 slides at a time.
The Laboratory uses modern procedures for standardized antigen retrieval, including the high capacity Biocare Decloaking Chamber™ NxGen.
A Leica CM3050S cryostat is used for sectioning frozen tissues.
A Reichert-Jung 2030 microtome is used for sectioning in-house control tissues.
The Laboratory also has a 10-head Olympus BX51 microscope with large screen viewing and image capture capabilities, and an Olympus BX61 microscope with motorized stage for viewing and capturing fluorescent stains.
