When the State of Illinois granted a charter to Knox Manual Labor College in 1837, it entrusted the leadership of the College to uphold its mission as outlined in the original
Circular and Plan
. That mission has been upheld for more than 177 years by

; countless administrators, faculty, and staff; and myriad trustees who have served on the Knox College Board.
