Contracts and Solicitations
All entities that wish to do business with the Illinois Commerce Commission must register for an eligible bidder number through the Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) by filing an Employer Report Form (PC-1). Public Act 096-0786, effective January 1, 2010, updates the registration process and fees for first time applicants and for renewals. Your support of our Public Contracts program helps meet the IDHR mission, freedom from unlawful discrimination and to establish and promote equal opportunity and affirmative action as the policy of The State of Illinois for all its residents.
Employment Opportunities
The ICC has much to offer prospective job applicants in the way of challenging careers in diverse settings with offices in Springfield, the state capital, and Chicago, the third largest city in the US, and Des Plaines. The ICC regulates Illinois investor-owned electric, natural gas, telephone, water, and sewer companies and is working to bring competition to these industries. In addition, the Commission exercises authority over railroad safety and hazardous materials movement, towing companies operating in the Chicago area, and motor carrier insurance requirements.
Sunshine Project
The mission of the Illinois Sunshine Project is to establish a culture for the "presumption of disclosure" across Illinois State Government Agencies and to develop policies, procedures and processes to routinely make available to individuals and groups, all public information that is obtainable by a FOIA request.
