Jubilee Hospital
Huntly is a small town in the north-east of Scotland half-way between Aberdeen and Inverness. Jubilee Hospital was opened in 1888 having been built from public subscription. It originally had 16 beds. The first matron was appointed later that year on an annual salary of £35.
Throughout the site there are two garden areas - the Millennium Garden and Rothieden Wing Garden. These are looked after by hospital staff and volunteers, and are well used by patients and staff.
The management structure is that Huntly is one of ten practices which form the Central Aberdeenshire LCHP, managed by NHS Grampian. Huntly and neighbouring Insch form one Locality, and services in that Locality are managed by a Locality Manager whose main base is Huntly.
An active "Friends of Jubilee Hospital" group supports the hospital by holding fund-raising events and providing additional equipment for the benefit of patients and staff.
There are excellent schooling, sporting facilities and other services in Huntly which is also a major tourist town in the north-east, attracting visitors on the distillery and castle trails.

Inpatients and more complex casualties are all managed by the GPs who are also supported by Practice Nurses and a Practice Nurse Assistant.
The Jubilee is a busy community hospital, comprising of 24 GP acute beds.
Minor operations are carried out twice monthly in Theatre by a visiting consultant from Dr Gray's Hospital, Elgin. Local GPs also carry out minor surgical procedures.
Jubilee Hospital is a recognised base for student placements and most qualified staff are mentors.
