1) Set up your student accounts

: First-Year, Transfer, Early-Entry, Non-Degree
As an NDSU student you'll have 2 primary accounts:

To set up these accounts, you’ll need your EMPL/student ID number, which was included in your admission letter.

2) Apply for financial aid & scholarships
Who should do this
: First-Year and Transfer
All degree-seeking students are encouraged to apply for financial aid and scholarships.

: NDSU awards millions of dollars in scholarships to new first-year and transfer students.

: To be considered for federal student aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at
studentaid.gov/fafsa

3) Make housing selections
Who should do this
: First-Year and Transfer
All first-year students and transfer students starting within one year of high school graduation, are guaranteed housing through our On-Campus Living Requirement. Other transfer students may elect to live on campus, and have several housing options from which to choose.

4) Make it official - commit to NDSU

Watch your email and mail for additional information on how to officially let us know if you plan to attend NDSU.
5) Prepare for class registration and on-campus orientation

7) Send your final documents
Who should do this
: First-Year and Transfer
Make sure to send your official final transcripts from high school and/or college prior to your first term at NDSU.
High school transcripts should include graduation date
Send all college transcripts with final grades, including credits earned through PSEO/CIS/Dual Credit

8) Complete MN reciprocity form (if applicable)
Who should do this
: First-Year, Transfer, Early Entry, Non-Degree who are MN residents
MN residents may qualify for a reduced tuition rate that is comparable to the North Dakota tuition rate, known as reciprocity. In order to qualify, you must complete the online Tuition Reciprocity Application through the MN Office of Higher Education.
