Exciting Educational Opportunities at the Huguenot Museum, Rochester.
We are delighted to introduce you to the Huguenot Museum’s education program, designed to inspire and engage students with history, culture, and creativity in the heart of historic Rochester. Our range of activities aligns with the Key Stages 1, 2, 3 & 4 curricula, including PSHE, and offers a unique way to bring learning to life outside the classroom.
What We Offer:
1.Guided Tours
Our expert-led tours explore the fascinating story of the Huguenots, French Protestant refugees who settled in England. Through interactive storytelling and hands-on activities, students will learn about themes such as migration, resilience, and cultural exchange
2.Art and
Craft Workshops
Our craft workshops immerse students in creative experiences inspired by the Huguenots’ skilled craftsmanship in textiles, silversmithing, and weaving. These sessions help develop fine motor skills, artistic expression, and a deeper connection to history.
3.Curriculum-Linked Activities
Our workshops are tailored to the appropriate Key Stages, supporting subjects like history, art, and PSHE. Students can explore topics such as diversity, community, and the challenges of settling in a new land.
4.Bespoke Workshops
If you have a specific learning goal or topic in mind, we can design a bespoke workshop to meet your needs, ensuring your students get the most out of their visit.

SEN Schools & Groups
We can offer exclusive use for SEN groups when the museum is closed to the public if required, to provide a quieter and more relaxed visit. As with all workshops we can ensure that all students are supported and ensure activities inclusive. Please do contact us to discuss specific requirements for your learners.
6.Lunchtime Room Hire
We offer a dedicated space for schools who need a base during field trips in Rochester (even if you are not visiting the museum). This is ideal for lunchtime breaks or as a quiet area to regroup during the day. We provide tables and chairs so children can eat their packed lunches, access to a sink with drinking water to refill water bottles and private toilets which are only accessible to your group.
